EpiDet™

Seizure Detection for Faster EEG Review

Spend less time searching. More time reviewing what matters.

EpiDet is NeuroHelp's seizure detection algorithm designed to support the review of EEG recordings.

High EEG Volume. Limited Review Time.

EEG review burden can come from hours or days of monitoring - or from many shorter recordings across multiple patients.

In both cases, clinicians must navigate large volumes of EEG in search of relatively brief clinically relevant events.

EpiDet highlights segments that may contain seizure activity, helping reviewers focus their attention where it is most likely to be needed.

From EEG Recording to Focused Review

  1. 1

    Analyze

EpiDet processes EEG recordings using NeuroHelp's proprietary seizure detection algorithm.

  2. 2

    Detect

Segments suspected of containing electrographic seizure activity are automatically identified and marked.

  3. 3

    Prioritize

Recordings and detected events can be organized according to their findings, helping reviewers identify cases that may require earlier attention.

  4. 4

    Review

The clinician reviews the original EEG surrounding each detected event and determines its clinical significance.

EpiDet supports EEG review. The clinical interpretation remains with the qualified healthcare professional.

Find the Moments That Matter

A seizure may occupy only a small fraction of a multi-hour or multi-day EEG recording.

EpiDet helps transform the review process from searching continuously through the recording to reviewing a focused set of algorithm-identified segments.

Detected events remain linked directly to the original EEG, allowing the reviewer to move rapidly between the detection overview and the underlying EEG signal.

Less searching. More focused review.

Know Where to Start

EpiDet is designed not only to identify suspicious EEG segments, but also to help organize the clinical review workflow.

When seizure activity is detected in a recording, that information can be surfaced at the case level, helping EEG teams recognize recordings that may require earlier review.

For departments managing multiple patients and long recordings simultaneously, this provides an additional layer of prioritization: the algorithm helps direct attention toward patients whose EEG contains potential seizure activity, while recordings without detected events remain available for standard review.

The result is a workflow designed around clinical relevance rather than simply recording order.

A Tool for the Reviewer - Not a Replacement for the Reviewer

EpiDet is designed to assist qualified clinical professionals in reviewing EEG.

The algorithm identifies and marks EEG segments that may correspond to seizure activity. These detections are then evaluated using the original EEG and the clinician's professional judgment.

By automating the search for potential seizure events while preserving human verification, EpiDet is designed to make EEG review faster, more focused, and more scalable.

Regulatory Status

NeuroHelp is in the process of obtaining marketing approval for EpiDet™ in the United States.

The EpiDet System is intended for the analysis of EEG signals obtained from scalp electrodes. It provides automated annotation of adult EEG recordings (patients 18 years or older) that are consistent with electrographic seizures, to assist qualified medical practitioners in clinical environments such as epilepsy monitoring units and neurological intensive care units (ICUs). The system is designed as a clinical support tool and does not provide diagnostic conclusions regarding a patient’s condition.

Review More EEG. Search Less.

EpiDet is designed for hospitals, EEG laboratories, epilepsy monitoring programs, ambulatory EEG providers, and clinical research organizations looking to make long-duration EEG review more efficient.
