Epilepsy is a chronic disease characterized by seizures of enhanced and synchronous electrical activity in neuronal networks in the brain. At the clinic, automatic seizure detection and forecasting algorithms can reduce the load on clinicians, generate relevant alerts and improve patient care, enabling better treatment with lower resources. In the context of home use, seizure forecasting devices can improve the quality of life of epileptic patients, reducing the anxiety due to the unforeseeable occurrence of seizures and improving patient safety.
